There are 30 that measure approximately 4\" across and 6 that measure 3-3\/8\" across. Both are 1\/8\" (3mm) thick. The larger size have a hole drilled into one point so are suitable for making Christmas ornaments. This is how I used them (painted white, with vintage buttons glued to the surface, see last two photos). I don't know what type of wood these are but they are unfinished and took several coats of paint as it sank in a bit.
