Seller policy
Welcome to Peo Vee's marketplace, hereafter Remnants. We’re excited to have you as part of our seller community. This policy outlines important guidelines and responsibilities for selling on Remnants. Please review these terms carefully to understand our expectations and your obligations as a seller.
1. Seller Responsibilities
As a seller on Remnants, you agree to:

Accurately Represent Your Products: All listings must include clear, complete, and truthful descriptions and photographs. You must disclose any materials, processes, or conditions (e.g. wear, damage, allergens) that may reasonably impact a buyer’s decision.

Fulfill Orders Promptly: Once an order is placed, it’s your responsibility to package and ship the item(s) within 1-3 business days. You are also responsible for providing tracking information, and for communicating promptly with Remnants and/or buyers about any delays.

Comply with Applicable Laws: You are solely responsible for ensuring your products and business practices comply with all applicable local, state, national, and international laws and regulations, including but not limited to labeling, packaging, safety, and customs requirements.
Remnants operates as a marketplace platform that connects independent sellers with buyers. Each seller is solely responsible for the accuracy of their listings, fulfillment of orders, product quality, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
2. Membership Requirement
Access to certain seller features on Remnants requires an active, paid Peo Vee membership. Membership provides access to platform tools and community benefits but does not guarantee approval to sell, continued access to selling features, or the right to maintain an active shop.
Remnants reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to approve, suspend, restrict, or remove seller accounts and listings at any time for policy violations or marketplace integrity concerns, including but not limited to repeated fulfillment issues, communication issues, inaccurate listings, misleading information, abuse of the platform, or conduct that undermines marketplace trust or platform standards.
Sellers whose shops are suspended, disabled, or restricted will be unable to sell on Remnants, even if they maintain an active paid membership.
Membership fees are non-refundable and are not prorated in the event of shop suspension, listing removal, account restriction, or termination of selling privileges.
3. Tax Collection & Remittance
Remnants will handle sales tax collection and remittance for transactions where marketplace facilitator laws apply, including orders shipped to California customers.

California Orders: As a California-based marketplace, we are required to collect and remit sales tax for sales shipped to California buyers. This tax will be automatically added to orders at checkout, and we will remit it directly to the California Department of Tax and Fee Administration (CDTFA).

Out-of-State Orders: Sellers are responsible for understanding and managing their own tax obligations for sales shipped to states that may require seller-collected tax. We recommend consulting a tax professional if you have questions about your tax responsibilities outside of California.
4. Listing Fees and Payment Terms

Listing Commission: Remnants charges a commission of 10% on the transaction total—items and shipping (excluding tax)—which is deducted at the time of payment processing. There are no additional listing fees.

Seller Payments: Payments from buyers are processed through Remnants’ payment systems, with funds disbursed to your account after deducting applicable fees.
Disbursements are typically made each Monday and include sales from the previous week (Monday–Sunday) that have been shipped with tracking. Payout schedules are estimates and may occasionally be adjusted or delayed due to verification, compliance, technical issues, bank holidays, or policy enforcement.
5. Dispute Resolution and Returns

Final Sale Policy: Remnants is a final-sale marketplace. It is the seller’s responsibility to accurately represent item condition. Remnants does not accept or process returns directly.

Disputes: In the event of a dispute, Remnants may, at its discretion, facilitate communication between buyer and seller. Sellers are expected to respond to dispute-related communication within 3 business days. Repeated failure to respond may result in suspension or removal.

Limitation of Liability:
Remnants is not responsible for the actions of individual sellers, including the accuracy of listings, quality of goods, fulfillment of orders, or the contents of shipments. However, Remnants reserves the right to take appropriate action, including but not limited to seller account suspension, listing removal, or other enforcement measures, if violations of our policies occur.
6. Income Reporting and Tax Documentation
To support accurate tax reporting and comply with applicable regulations, Remnants maintains the following requirements and practices for seller income reporting:
Tax Information (W-9)

Sellers may receive payouts without submitting a W-9 until they approach the annual reporting threshold.

Remnants will request a completed Form W-9 from sellers who are approaching or expected to reach $600 in payouts within a calendar year.

Sellers must submit a W-9 in order to continue receiving payouts once they reach the reporting threshold.

Failure to provide a W-9 may result in delayed payouts, withholding, or suspension of selling privileges.
Tax Form Issuance (Form 1099)

Remnants will issue a Form 1099 to sellers who receive $600 or more in payouts during a calendar year.

The amount reported reflects total payouts made to the seller, net of marketplace commissions and fees.

Forms are issued by January 31 of the following year, in accordance with IRS requirements, and are delivered electronically via our tax reporting partner.
Thresholds and Eligibility

Sellers who earn less than $600 in a calendar year will not receive an applicable Form 1099.

Remnants may update reporting thresholds or form types if required by changes in tax laws or regulatory guidance.
Seller Responsibility

Sellers are responsible for reporting their income accurately on their tax returns.

Remnants does not provide tax advice. Sellers are encouraged to consult a qualified tax professional regarding their individual tax obligations.

Compliance and Data Security
7. Prohibited Items
Remnants is a curated marketplace for preowned, gently used arts and crafts supplies only. The following items are strictly prohibited and may not be listed:

New or wholesale-purchased supplies

Non-arts-and-crafts-related items

Finished artwork or upcycled projects

Items illegal to sell, infringing on intellectual property, counterfeit, or otherwise restricted

Any material that may be considered obscene, pornographic, or offensive.
Remnants is a resale platform focused on creative reuse and secondhand materials. We reserve the right to deny or remove listings that do not reflect resale or surplus pricing, especially when priced at or near current full retail value.
Important: Inclusion of inappropriate, explicit, or non-compliant materials in shipments (including unsolicited printed matter, media, or promotional content) is strictly prohibited and may result in immediate removal from the platform and referral to law enforcement if necessary.

8. Platform Integrity
Sellers may not attempt to circumvent Remnants’ marketplace systems, fees, or policies, including directing buyers to complete transactions outside the platform.
9. Policy Updates
Remnants reserves the right to update this Seller Policy as needed to reflect changes in laws, tax obligations, or other business practices. Continued use of the platform after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised policy. Sellers will be notified of any material changes to the policy. Remnants reserves the right to remove sellers from the platform at any time, for violations of these or other policies, terms and conditions.
